The president and chairman of Daihatsu have resigned following a safety test scandal.

Toyota Motor Corp has announced that the President and Chairman of Daihatsu Motor will resign due to a crash safety test cheating scandal. Masahiro Inoue, Toyota's CEO for Latin America and the Caribbean, will replace Soichiro Okudaira as President of Daihatsu starting from March 1, 2024. Okudaira had a long career at Toyota before becoming President of Daihatsu in 2017. Daihatsu Chairman Sunao Matsubayashi will also step down and will not be replaced. In response to safety test certification submission errors, Daihatsu will be excluded from the Commercial Japan Partnership Technologies (CJPT), a commercial vehicle partnership. Toyota will acquire Daihatsu's 10% stake in the partnership.

Google has pledged 25 million euros to enhance AI skills in Europe.

Google has pledged €25 million ($26.98 million) to support AI education and training in Europe. The company is accepting applications from non-profit organizations and social enterprises that can provide training to those who will benefit the most. Google will also host 'growth academies' to assist companies in scaling their operations using AI. Additionally, the company has expanded its free online AI courses to be available in 18 languages. The initiative aims to tackle current inequalities and ensure that no one is left behind as AI continues to affect economic security and employment. This program follows Google's recent announcement of a $1 billion investment in a new data center outside London to meet the growing demand for internet services in the area. The data center will be situated in Waltham Cross and will be owned by Alphabet.
