Nvidia is on its way to a US$10 Trillion market capitalisation, here's what's driving it

Investment strategist Sahy Boloor is confident that Nvidia has the potential to reach a market capitalisation of US$10 trillion. This ambitious prediction is based on Nvidia's advancements in various technologies, not just AI. Boloor highlights two key innovations that are expanding Nvidia's presence in high-growth sectors: Omniverse and CUDA Q.Omniverse is a platform that facilitates real-time collaboration on 3D projects and supports digital twins, autonomous vehicle simulation, industrial digitalisation, and AI applications. Its versatility across industries such as manufacturing, automotive, and digital transformation positions Nvidia as a leader in the Metaverse and digital simulation.

In addition to AI, Nvidia has also made significant progress in quantum computing. CUDA Q is a feature that enables the simulation of quantum computing, further expanding Nvidia's technology horizon. While predicting a market capitalisation of US$10 trillion is ambitious, Nvidia's ongoing advancements in these emerging technologies suggest it could be attainable.

Israel and Hamas Ceasefire Deal Followed by Airstrikes in Gaza

Following the announcement of a ceasefire and the release of hostages, Israel has intensified its attacks on the Gaza Strip. Mediators are working to de-escalate the situation prior to the ceasefire, which is scheduled to commence on Sunday. This deal, brokered by Qatar, Egypt, and the US, follows 15 months of violence that has had a devastating effect on Gaza and fuelled anger in the Middle East. The agreement stipulates an initial six-week ceasefire, with a gradual withdrawal of Israeli troops from the region. In addition, hostages held by Hamas will be released in exchange for Palestinian prisoners held by Israel. Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has stated that the ceasefire will come into effect on Sunday. US President Joe Biden has welcomed the deal, stating that it will bring an end to the fighting in Gaza, provide much-needed humanitarian aid to Palestinian civilians, and reunite hostages with their families.

Bank of Korea maintains 3% key rate amid weaker Won

In a surprising move, South Korea's central bank, the Bank of Korea, has decided to maintain its benchmark interest rate at 3%. This decision follows a period of weakening for the South Korean won, which has recently reached a 15-year low. The country has been facing significant challenges, including a political crisis caused by President Yoon Suk Yeol's attempt to impose martial law and the deadly crash of Jeju Air flight number 7C2216. Consequently, the government has revised its 2025 economic growth forecast from 2.2% to 1.8%. The won's depreciation, reaching 10.6% against the dollar in the last three months of 2024, has also been a concern for policymakers. Local currency traders have indicated that the central bank's decision is motivated by a commitment to preserving economic stability.
