Sony is set to lay off 900 employees from its PlayStation division and shut down its London studio.

Sony Japan has announced that it will cut around 900 jobs at its PlayStation unit and shut down a studio in London. This decision comes as the video game industry continues to struggle after the pandemic. The job cuts will affect about 8% of the division's employees across the Americas and Asia. Sony recently lowered its annual sales expectations for the PlayStation 5 console. Sony's gaming chief, Jim Ryan, explained that the company had to make difficult decisions due to changes in the industry's development, distribution, and product launches. The layoffs bring Sony in line with other companies, such as Microsoft and Tencent's Riot Games, which have also laid off thousands of employees in recent months amidst a slow recovery in the gaming market. The worldwide video game market grew by only 0.6% last year, reaching $184 billion. However, this was an improvement from the anticipated decline. The job cuts will also affect other Sony studios, including Insomniac Games and Naughty Dog.

Warning about the banking crisis-CBDC war, Robert Kiyosaki targets these 2 assets

Robert Kiyosaki, author of the bestselling book Rich Dad Poor Dad, has warned of a potential banking crisis, war and the introduction of central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). In a social media post, Kiyosaki advised investors to be cautious as the banking crisis worsens and the threat of war increases. He also raised concerns about CBDCs, stating that central banks would use them to spy on individuals. As a result, Kiyosaki mentioned that he has been buying more bitcoin and silver coins with the intention of using silver as a form of money instead of the US dollar. This warning comes after Kiyosaki previously warned of a global financial crisis in March 2023, highlighting issues of fraud, betrayal and collusion within banks, Wall Street and governments.
