Houthis Warn Airlines and Travelers to Avoid Saudi Airports After Deadly Riyadh Attack
Yemen’s Houthi group has warned airlines, passengers, and airport workers to stay away from airports in Saudi Arabia. The warning came a day after an attack on Riyadh’s international airport killed 12 people and injured more than 300 others. The strike, which took place on Saturday (October 10, 2026), was the deadliest in Saudi Arabia in more than a decade, and it came amid escalating fighting between the Iran-backed Houthis and Saudi-backed Yemeni government forces. In a statement posted on X on Sunday (October 11, 2026), the Houthis once again urged all airlines, aviation specialists, employees, workers, and travelers not to use Saudi airports and airspace. They claimed these areas are vulnerable to attack and have become an operational theater for their forces. The only exceptions were the airports in Mecca and Medina.
Musk Vows Affordable Starlink Pricing in India, Taking Aim at Ambani’s Jio Ahead of Record IPO
Elon Musk said he will price Starlink’s satellite internet service in India at affordable levels to compete with Mukesh Ambani’s low-cost Reliance Jio. The move escalates his attacks on his rival billionaire just days before Jio’s parent company launches the largest IPO in India’s history, Reuters reported on Sunday (October 11, 2026). Jio Platforms, which owns the telecom unit, is targeting a valuation of US$106 billion in the share offering. Like SpaceX’s Starlink, Jio’s own satellite venture is still awaiting final security clearance before it can launch. Cheap data has been the key to Jio’s success in India, and Musk has used a similar strategy in markets such as Kenya to shake up local telecom players. SpaceX now plans to move directly into the mobile carrier market, starting with the United States.
Zelenskiy: Ukraine Ready to Halt Strikes on Russian Refineries if Moscow Reciprocates
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Sunday (October 11, 2026) that Kyiv is prepared to stop its attacks on Russian oil refineries, provided Moscow ends its strikes on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. He stressed that any move to de-escalate the conflict between the two countries must be mutual and backed by tangible guarantees. In a statement posted on Telegram, Zelenskiy emphasized that a halt to the attacks cannot be carried out by one side alone. According to him, Ukraine is willing to take this step as long as Russia likewise stops targeting Ukrainian energy facilities.
